CHELSEA WIN PROVES AMBIUS HAS THE GREENEST FINGERS IN THE INTERIOR LANDSCAPING INDUSTRY

Ambius boosted its bank of industry awards yesterday by scooping a prestigious Silver Gilt medal at the 2007 Chelsea Flower Show for its dazzling display of tropical flora and foliage.
The only interior landscaping company invited to exhibit at Chelsea, Ambius was judged among entries from the crème of garden and horticultural companies to take the award.
Centred on a rare and highly valuable blue Bismarkia palm (bismarkia nobilis), the striking 20ft display incorporates eye-catching Bromeliads in dramatic colours more associated with tropical climes. The stunning shades are enhanced and contrasted with the gentle hues of silver-grey and green foliage.

The award winning exhibit, which will be on display at stand GPC 26 within the Show’s Grand Pavilion Marquee until 26 May, will act as the company’s shop window with all species on display and available for hire by the company’s customers.
The exhibit was designed, built and displayed by Ambius UK Projects Manager, Paul Sturgess - more commonly known as the company’s ‘Plant Doctor’, because of his extensive knowledge of plant pests and diseases.
2007 is the first year that the company, formerly known as Rentokil Tropical Plants, has exhibited as Ambius following its rebrand in March this year: Paul Sturgess comments: “We launched a new contemporary, corporate identity in March so it was critical that it was reflected in our display. Visitors have not only loved the plants, but also the striking containers that hold them and have been amazed to learn that everything on the stand is among the great variety of species and containers that are available from Ambius.”

Paul Cochrane, managing director, Ambius, added: “It is a privilege to be invited to display at this world renowned horticultural event, but to scoop a win further demonstrates that our company is a market leader in enhancing indoor environments.
“This accolade is testament to the hard work of all our employees but particularly the team in our Bath nursery, the nerve centre of our horticultural excellence. We will now be looking to replicate this horticultural in other industry events that cover our broader product portfolio.”
The Ambius brand name was introduced in March to better reflect the company’s extended service portfolio which builds on the company’s 21 years’ experience of designing, installing and servicing interior plants.
The expanded product portfolio, to become available in all markets, will include the provision of ambient scenting, corporate artwork and other products that improve workplace environments and employee well being. For instance, in the UK, the brand recently launched a range of ‘acoustic artwork’ which not only enhances office environments visually, but also dampens background noise in open plan offices, together enhancing the workplace for employees.
The Show, regarded as the most prestigious of its kind, is held in London during May and attracts visitors from all over the world. Amibus will also take out exhibition space at Gardener’s World, NEC (13-17 June) and Hampton Court (3-8 July)
