eFIG Ltd, The European Federation of Interior Landscape Groups has appointed the new committee at the Annual General Meeting on the 28th of June in London. Tim Law, Alan Page, Kenneth Freeman, Sandra Houghton and Ian Drummond form the committee, which is responsible for supporting and promoting interior landscaping industry in the UK and Europe.
“Each member of the committee has specific duties” says Tim Law eFIG’s new Chairman “and I appreciate so much members’ commitment as this is an extra burden in their busy lives. I believe it is a worthwhile cause, which will result in tangible benefits to everyone in eFIG. Our Federation is evolving all the time and is an important organisation, and I will do all I can to strengthen its position.”
“This is a great opportunity and I am looking forward to working on the eFIG Annual Events.” said Sandra Houghton, newly elected Events Organiser. “With the numerous challenges and tremendous opportunities the industry currently faces, I am excited about the prospect of helping to organise events that will encourage debate as well as share best practice in interior landscaping. Our prestigious annual Awards ceremony is to take place on the 19th of October in Sheffield. We are planning an exiting event including a tour and reception in the famous Winter Gardens”
Alan Page, the Federation’s Treasurer also will represent eFIG at EILO, the pan-European trade federation. European Interior Landscaping Organisation’s objectives are to work to develop, manage and publish the results of all research throughout Europe and be responsible for promoting and defending the interior landscape industry within the European arena.
“I believe this is exactly what interior landscaping needs as unfortunately the industry, within each of the EC countries, is considered to be too small to be taken seriously at a governmental level. eFIG is proud to be one of the founding fathers of the new co-federation and I am very please to work with EILO” said Alan.
Kenneth Freeman, the Marketing Coordinator brings with him specialist knowledge and experience of interior landscaping industry gained working for one of the biggest companies in the UK. “Around the world, suppliers and contractors are demonstrating tremendous enthusiasm for interior landscaping” said Kenneth Freeman. “We are fortunate to have many talented and dedicated members of the industry. The Marketing Committee works to promote and develop eFIG’s PR and develops projects that will increase eFIG’s visibility and to enhance members’ image. We have to take the message about the benefits of the plants to the wider audience.”
Social Secretary Ian Drummond might have a fun role on the committee to organise informal events. However, they are most beneficial to the members attending them. Many strong business bonds were established during a friendly chat with a glass of wine.
The committee’s purpose is to contribute to the future direction of the Federation. eFIG is run for and by its’ members, and by taking part in the federation’s activities, members are taking part in the development of the association and the industry.
